Communicable Disease
The Health Department receives reports on diseases and conditions as defined by the Code of Maryland Regulations. It is also responsible for the epidemiological investigation of each suspected or reported outbreak of disease. A major component of this program is prevention of, and education about, communicable diseases. The diseases include but are not limited to: sexually transmitted disease (STD), tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, rabies, and overseas immunizations. Testing for certain STDs, HIV, and TB are available.

HIV Case Management
Case management services are offered for clients infected with HIV and are provided by a team of a Social Work and Registered Nurse. Case management provides assistance with access to medical care, housing, medication, and provides information on availability of benefits specifically aimed at the HIV infected persons.
