Out of the Darkness returned to the Board Walk in OC on Saturday, 9/23. Hundreds of walkers came out on a beautiful day at the beach to spread awareness about suicide prevention and education. Thank you to all who participated or donated. Funding raised through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be used for continued education, community trainings, and support. Fund raising for Out of the Darkness Ocean City is still active. To learn more, visit here.

(Accomac, Va.) –The Accomack County Health Department and the Foodborne Disease Team from the Virginia Department of Health continue to investigate a cluster of gastro-intestinal illnesses that may be related to the Chincoteague Chili Chowder Cook Off held this past Saturday, September 30, 2017. We appreciate the response we have received from event attendees and healthcare providers who have reached out to us so far. 
Due to inclement weather, the Just Walk Making Strides event scheduled for today is rescheduled for 5-6 p.m. on October 18 at Byrd Park in Snow Hill. For more information, please call 410-632-0056. 
Snow Hill, Md. – The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program would like to announce this year’s open enrollment period which begins on November 1, 2017 through December 15, 2017 for Qualified Health and/or Dental plans. During this time, certified Navigators are available to assist individuals and families with the application and enrollment process into a private plan through the state marketplace, Maryland Health Connection.
