Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program Open Enrollment Dates 
 
Snow Hill, Md. – The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program’s would like to announce this year’s open enrollment period for Qualified Health Plans to begin on November 1, 2016 and carry through January 31, 2017. During this time certified Navigators are available to assist individuals and families with the application and enrollment process into a Qualified Health Plan through the state marketplace, Maryland Health Connection.  
 
The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program provides one-on-one help for residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties applying for health insurance through the state’s marketplace, Maryland Health Connection. The number is 855-445-5540. 
 
The open enrollment period for Qualified Health Plans through Maryland Health Connection will be held from November 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017. 
 
About the Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program: The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program is administered through the Worcester County Health Department and funded by a grant through the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange. The program helps to educate, determine eligibility and enroll uninsured and underinsured residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties into private health plans or Medicaid. Annapolis, MD (March 24, 2017) – The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Behavioral Health Administration is announcing an art exhibition featuring 20 Maryland artists who use their art to challenge the stigma surrounding behavioral health issues and to raise public awareness. The exhibition will be held April 24 at the Lowe House Office Building with an opening reception hosted by Maryland’s First Lady, Yumi Hogan.

Worcester Health’s Lifestyle Balance: Girdletree Team Drops Nearly 300lbs in Six Weeks
 
Snow Hill, MD – A group of 39 determined Lifestyle Balance participants have lost a combined (and record-making) 300lbs; an average of 7.6lbs each, in just the first six weeks of the class. This is the most weight lost in the shortest amount of time since the program began in Worcester County in 2009. The class is located at the Girdletree Volunteer Fire Department, but open to the entire community.
