About Tri-County Health Planning Board:

Neighboring counties of Somerset and Wicomico have health planning boards which play similar roles. The three bodies meet together as the Tri-County Health Planning Board. 

The mission of the board is to improve the health of residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties; increase accessibility, continuity, availability of quality of health services; optimize cost-effectiveness of providing health services and prevent unnecessary duplication of health resources. The Tri County Board provides input into the development of statewide health planning documents and uses the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) and individual county community health assessments and health improvement plans to identify the Tri-County Health Improvement Plan (T-CHIP).


Meeting Schedule:

The Tri-County Health Planning Board's next meeting will be at 9 a.m. on Feb. 29, 2012 at the Somerset County Health Department on Sign Post Road in Westover.

Meeting Schedule: Routinely meets the last Wednesday of the months of January, May and October from 9-11 a.m. rotating between the three counties.Depending on need, the Tri-County Board will meet on March 28, location will be announced. 

All meetings are open to the public.

(Annapolis, MD, Feb. 17, 2012)—The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC) issued today its Call for Proposals to support local action strategies around implementation of the State Health Improvement Process (SHIP).  Launched earlier this year by the Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DHMH), the SHIP provides a framework for accountability, local action, and public engagement to improve overall public health outcomes in our state.

 BALTIMORE, MD (February 15, 2012) –This tax season, Marylanders can join the cancer fight with a quick checkmark when completing their state income tax form, according to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH). The Maryland income tax form provides state residents the opportunity to donate to the Maryland Cancer Fund which in turn supports cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment programs.
