The Community Health Program consists of Registered Nurses who provide a wide range of nursing services in a variety of settings to Worcester County residents of all ages. Community Health Nurses assess, support, educate, and encourage individuals to be independent in meeting their care needs within a self-care framework. Care also focuses on disease prevention, treatment referrals, and education on personal and family emergency preparedness. The goal of nursing services is to work with individuals and families to achieve an optimal level of well being.

Baltimore, MD (August 4, 2015) – Maryland's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) gives health care providers and public health and safety authorities a powerful tool in the state’s battle against the heroin and opioid epidemic gripping the region. Starting this week, health care providers are now able to access out-of-state PDMP data.

Waiving IMD Exclusion also would help those with mental health disorders
 
Baltimore, MD (July 28, 2015) – The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) is seeking a federal waiver from the Institution for Mental Diseases (IMD) Exclusion (also known as the “IMD Exclusion”). This waiver would significantly expand the scope of treatment options available to Medicaid enrollees with substance use and mental health disorders.
