Worcester Health encourages residents to explore our county on October 5 for Walk Maryland Day

Snow Hill, MD- In celebration of Walk Maryland Day on October 5, 2022, the Worcester County Health Department is excited to invite you to walk or move your way and join us for a self-directed Just Walk Scavenger Hunt. Residents can get in their steps from 8am-5pm at one of the following parks: 

  • Byrd Park-Snow Hill, Maryland
  • Cypress Park-Pocomoke, Maryland
  • Stephen Decatur Park-Berlin, Maryland (Ribbon Cutting and walk around pathway w/Mayor, Council. and Parks Commission at @4:30pm weather permitting.

We encourage residents to walk through the park and look for Just Walk wellness pumpkins. Those who report the number of wellness pumpkins found, along with a photo taken at one of the parks will be entered into a raffle drawing for a chance to win a free prize. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  This is a great event for anyone and a way to increase physical activity by walking and participating in a scavenger hunt.

“Walking is the state’s official exercise and continues to be one of the easiest forms of physical activity and it’s free to everyone. There are many reasons to walk. There are also various health benefits that can be gained from simply walking,” said Crystal Bell, Chronic Disease and Tobacco Supervisor.
