Snow Hill, MD- The Worcester County Health Department’s free adult smoking cessation classes begin in October. Worcester Health is committed to helping smokers and vapers establish new behavior patterns that lead to a tobacco free lifestyle.
Join one of the smoking cessation classes available throughout Worcester County starting this week:
- Tuesdays, 5:00p.m.-6:00p.m. (October 18, 2022-January 3, 2023) at the Snow Hill Health Center, 6040 Public Landing Rd.
- Wednesdays, 1:30p.m.-2:30p.m. (October 18, 2022-January 4, 2023) at the Atlantic Club, 11827 Ocean Gateway
- Wednesdays, 4:30p.m.-5:30p.m. (October 18, 2022- January 4, 2023) Distance Learning
- Thursdays, 4:30-5:30 p.m. (October 18, 2022- January 5, 2023) at the Pocomoke Health Center 400-A Walnut Street
“No matter how long you’ve smoked or vaped, there are health benefits to quitting,” said Crystal Bell, Chronic Disease and Tobacco Supervisor at Worcester County Health Department. “If a person is thinking about quitting, we want them set up for success by enrolling in our free smoking cessation program. We want residents to know we are here to help them through their quit journey.”
Professionally trained instructors can help participants break the nicotine addiction. The smoking cessation course consists of eight core sessions covering stress management, weight control, assertive communication, how to develop a quit plan, relapse prevention, and physical activity.
