Snow Hill, MD- The Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester County Health Departments will host Lights In The Night on October 24, 2026 from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at WinterPlace Park (6737 Blue Ribbon Road, Salisbury, MD 21804).

Annually, families, friends, survivors, and the community gather to foster awareness and support, reminding everyone that there should be no shame associated with getting help. We offer a safe space for the public to grieve and to help the wider community grasp the impact of losing someone to suicide has on our society.

The event will feature a memorial wall. If you would like to share your friend or loved one and a message in remembrance to be displayed at this year’s event and yearly thereafter, please visit this link:  Lights In The Night~Memorial Wall

The evening is dedicated to remembering those lost to suicide while supporting families and those striving for mental wellness. Yearly we come together to break the silence and shatter stigma surrounding this devastating issue. Join us to hear conversations to inspire others and demonstrate our commitment to helping our community. Everyone is welcome to join this free family-friendly event where we offer support, build up our community, and fight against the shame that can come with suicide and those intrusive thoughts. The evening will include, but is not limited to:

  • Stories from family members who have lost loved ones and persons with lived experience

  • A dance performance by Salisbury Dance Academy

  • Access to crisis, support and grief resources

  • A walk to honor those lost and still struggling, candle vigil and sharing circle

  • Complimentary glow items and refreshments

  • A candlelight vigil and time of remembrance will conclude the evening around 7:00 p.m.
