Snow Hill, MD – The Worcester County Health Department in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, is hosting Empowered Caregiving, a free resource and learning event for anyone caring for or preparing to care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Empowered Caregiving is on Thursday, May 21st at 2:30 p.m. at the Pocomoke 50 Plus Center (400 Walnut St. Pocomoke, MD).

This event features learning opportunities, a brain-healthy cooking demonstration from Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist Kelly Williams, and connections to local caregiver resources provided by Maryland Access Point.

“Worcester County has the highest proportion of residents aged 65+ in Maryland. Recent reports suggest that 1 in 4 adults is a caregiver. Our Empowered Caregiver events, in cooperation with the Alzheimer's Association, will connect caregivers with valuable services and community resources while promoting self-care,” said Kelly Williams, Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist for Worcester Health.
