Worcester Health offers resources during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

Snow Hill, MD– This June, during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, Worcester County Health Department is encouraging you to prioritize your brain health by taking positive steps that can make a meaningful difference.

With more research emerging every year, experts say the message is clear: it’s never too early — or too late — to take action.

Research shows that everyday lifestyle choices can play an important role. Staying physically active, eating a balanced diet, keeping cognitively and socially engaged and regularly monitoring overall health may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline. In fact, experts estimate that nearly half of dementia cases worldwide could be linked to modifiable risk factors.

Worcester Health is offering free brain health bags, filled with resources to help you make healthy lifestyle choices. These bags will be available at the following locations:

  • Snow Hill Health Department(6040 Public Landing Rd. Snow Hill)

  • Berlin Health Center (9730 Healthway Dr. Berlin)

  • Pocomoke Health Center (400-A Walnut St. Pocomoke)

Once you pick up your free brain health bag, you’ll have a chance to enter the raffle to win a free MIND Diet Cookbook. The MIND Diet (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay diet) combines the Mediterranean and DASH diets to reduce the risk of dementia and loss of brain function as you age. A raffle winner will be chosen from each location on June 30th, 2026.
